Korean Heroes Is Back

It has been ages since I have posted anything, so long that I have almost lost track of what was happening!  However, we are now back in the thick of things as Yi Sun-sin bravely leads the Korean navy into battle against the Japanese in his second campaign of 1592.  This 30 odd minute episode is actually only the first half of the sixth installment and covers the Battle of Sacheon where Yi Sun-sin once again risks his life for his king and country.  The second half is forthcoming and will include the rest of the second campaign.  Enjoy!

  1. Military power has been the most important part for survival of countries. But Joseon Dynasty didn’t do it well, so it happened terrible and people suffered from Japanese severely.
And Korean peninsula is still in dangerous situation now.
It’s very sad it hasn’t been different since Imjin War.
But I hope that we can overcome the difficulties by strong trial of Koreans not surrounding to foreign countries.
I always thank you that I’ve gotten good information from you in English class.
    Try to stay healthy well!

  2. Yi Sun-sin was courageous. At that time, Joseon Dynasty was not prepared to Japanese attack. But Yi Sun-sin’s unsurpassed resourcefulness influences on a victory or defeat of naval battles. Most of all, I respect his courage. Before Myeongyang Battle happens, His famous word, ‘I have twelve ships’ is a demonstration of his courage.

  4. and He(Yi Sun-sin ) said
‘Trying to die, You will live!
but Trying to live, You will die!!!’
that saying has stong impact to me!!!!
I heard that when i was in elemetary school.
    But i still memorize it.
there is another proverb that just fit with it.
‘If you fell into tiger’s cave, will be safe as long as wake you mind!’
Yi Sun-sin is one of my favorites hero too.
We have another many of heroes in Korea~
so if you have any chances please introduce
    another heroes~ 😀

  5. When I was 16 years old I examined about turtle ships for a month. Also, I went to Tongyeong and Asan to see the model of turtle ship and the admiral Yi Sun-shin’s tomb. So, when you talked about him I was surprised and thanked you.

  8. I think the reasons that Yi Sun-sin recognized as heroes are he kills many Japanese marines with a small force. And Although Joseon Dynasty had political unrest and insufficient military power, He won many battles.
Now, Korea have political unrest and insufficient military power like Joseon Dynasty.
Then, Joseon Dynasty and Japan are wrong.
Japan killed many people for their national interest. And Joseon Dynasty didn’t have enough military power and try to listen various ideas.
To have strong nation, We try to participate in political decision or other reasons.
